Among the thousands of Ukrainians living in Texas, no one is following the events back home more closely than Roman Talis.
Talis, CEO of Dallas-based Kruto Vodka, has two factories and about 300 employees in Ukraine. As those workers endure the Russian onslaught, Talis says he considers each employee to be a family member.
Last weekend, his North Texas team held a march that drew an estimated 1,000 people in Frisco. Talis is also working to get financial assistance back to Ukraine.
On the business side, Talis told KRLD News that as more businesses in Texas and across the nation stop serving Russian-made products, awareness of Ukraine-made vodka, like Kruto, is soaring. He said he is bombarded with calls from potential new customers.
In a wide-ranging conversation with KRLD's Chris Sommer, Talis discussed his concern for Ukraine, his thoughts on Russian President Putin and Ukrainian President Zelensky and how he believes the conflict will ultimately turn out in Ukraine.
