CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The Illinois Department of Public Health reported more than 2,400 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease, bringing the state's total case numbers above 300,000.
On Saturday, IPDH said 2,442 new coronavirus cases were confirmed with 31 new deaths, which included six deaths in Cook County.
The state said there have been more than 71,00 tests done in the last 24 hours.
The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity rate is 3.4% but in Chicago, the rate is still higher at 4.3%, though it's a decrease from last week.
According to the Chicago Department of Public Health's COVID dashboard, the city is seeing 8,882 daily tests and 318 positives.
IDPH is reporting a total of 300,088 cases statewide, including 8,774 deaths.
