CHICAGO, IL (WBBM Newsradio) - The message coming from a small group outside Northwestern University ‘Stay Strong’ as organizer Nancy Bruski says Monday’s action is not a protest, “I call it a demonstration, the reason I’m not calling it a protest, is we aren’t specifically protesting Northwestern with accusations or demanding they change their ways”, said Bruski.
Northwestern has already pushed back this year against Trump Administration demands even if those decisions have come with a loss of funding.
“Our goal here is to support them in continuing not to cave in, because so far they haven’t”, adds Bruski.
Bruski is with a small group called Worth Fighting For which is part of a larger nationwide movement working to prevent government control or overreach in education.
As Northwestern works to hire a new president, Worth Fighting For wants to make clear to the students, faculty, and administration that Evanston residents are paying attention.
“We care about what they’re doing. We won’t them to stand strong and not cave in,” said Bruski.
