WAUKEGAN, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Lake County voters who might find themselves in a hospital 14 days before election day can still vote.
Lake County Clerk Robin M. O’Connor issued a reminder Monday that if you are a registered voter who is admitted to a hospital, nursing home, or rehabilitation center within 14 days before Nov. 3, you may qualify for personal delivery of a ballot by a family member or friend, subject to statutory conditions.
This means even people in the hospital with coronavirus can get help voting to make sure their voice still counts.
To make sure you get your ballot, residents need to fill out the request form and a note from a physician is required.
All required forms must be returned to the Lake County Clerk's office prior to your Certificate of Application and ballot being issued. Forms are available by contacting the Lake County Clerk’s Election Department at VotingByMail@lakecountyil.gov or calling 847-377-Vote (8683). You can also download the hospitalized voter form online by clicking on the “November 2020 Election” icon and following the link to "Hospitalized Voter."
