CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Online registration has kicked off for Chicago Park District's summer programs.
Whether it's gymnastics, baseball, camping, tennis, swimming, yoga, or day camp - now is the time to register for those summer programs conducted by the Chicago Park District.
Chicago Park District Chief Programs Officer Alonzo Williams said his tip to all is not to wait, because some camps fill up quickly.
"It depends on location, but I will tell you...I myself am going to be registering my kids, because it's the push of a button. Some of our camps fill up that day online," Williams said.
Williams also informs residents that there is a price increase from last year, but the Chicago Park District never turns anyone away.
Williams said the price increase covers various costs including staffing, pay raises for rec leaders, and buses for trips.
Standard day camps run for six weeks from June 24-Aug. 2.
Online registration begins Monday for parks west of California Avenue and Tuesday for parks east of California. In-person registration for summer programs begins Saturday or next Monday depending on the park.
