CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Mayor Emanuel seems to be taking a low key approach to any new possibility of bringing Amazon’s second headquarters to Chicago.

Governor JB Pritzker said he has renewed Illinois' bid for Amazon's HQ2 amid reports that the mega-company is rethinking its choice of New York as one of its new headquarters.

Mayor Emanuel is expressing interest, but he said the city is not focusing its energy on only one company and that he may have something to say about that in coming weeks.

"The fundamentals of Chicago that they looked at are still unbelievably strong," Emanuel said. "A very educated work force, with a robust higher education system."

Chicago was a finalist in the bidding of HQ2, but Amazon chose to split its headquarters between New York and a Virginia suburb of Washington, D.C.
