David Haugh (5-2): Bears 24, Seahawks 20
The outlook for this game changed the moment the Bears traded for Jeffery Simmons. It remains an enormous challenge to beat the Seahawks in Seattle, especially after their defense made Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs look pedestrian. But just as Caleb Williams is the multiplier offensively, a player like Simmons can elevate an entire defense – as well as ignite a team seeing how much the front office believes it is a legit Super Bowl contender. This will be close, but the Bears’ drastically improved defense will step up.
Matt Spiegel (4-3): Seahawks 27, Bears 20
The Bears drop to 5-3 with a one-score loss in a tough rough environment.
Chris Emma (4-3): Seahawks 21, Bears 17
This will be a heck of a football game between two true contenders in the NFC. I'm going with the reigning Super Bowl champions to come out on top over the Bears.
Alex Kuhn (4-3): Bears 23, Seahawks 13
The Bears are 14-2 in the regular season in non-divisional games under Ben Johnson. Make it 15-2.
Tyler Buterbaugh (5-2): Bears 17, Seahawks 14
I have a feeling the Bears could surprise the Seahawks despite what their defense did against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offense. Caleb Williams’ progression has given me confidence that he can have a solid game against this Seattle defense. I also think we’ll be surprised with the performance of the defense with the addition of Jeffery Simmons and the return of Montez Sweat.
Tyler Ferengul (4-3): Bears 24, Seahawks 23
This is the toughest Bears game of the season for me to predict. Early in the season, I had this as one of the Bears' few losses. Now, I'm switching it up to a win. Why? The belief with Caleb Williams under center is so great that I think the Bears are capable of winning any given week as long as he's healthy. The chess match between Ben Johnson and Mike Macdonald is going to be fascinating to watch. Both teams also made big additions in recent days. In the trenches, Seattle acquired All-Pro guard Quenton Nelson, while Chicago traded for All-Pro defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons. This feels like a potential NFC Championship Game preview, and it will come down to Williams and the Bears offense making key plays late to go ahead and win it. I can truly see this game going either way – the Seahawks are that good – but I believe in these Bears. They move to 6-2 with one of the best wins of the Johnson era.
Clint Clouse (5-2): Bears 23, Seahawks 16
I’m still stunned and excited that the Bears made the big-time trade for Jeffery Simmons, a true game-wrecker who gives Chicago its best pass rusher since Khalil Mack. (Maybe he comes back too.) This matchup is probably the toughest game of the season for the Bears because of the challenge that the Seahawks’ defense presents. If the Bears are to win this game, their defense is going to have to force Sam Darnold into turning the ball over – because they aren’t stopping Jaxon Smith-Njigba. This is the closest I’ve come to not picking the Bears to win, but I believe in Ben Johnson and that Caleb Williams can make enough plays to beat a great defense.
Grant Lieder (4-3): Bears 27, Seahawks 24
I’m not going to go against the Bears this week, much of the chagrin of many people. The Bears win a close one as their defense holds on the final drive.
Jakob Stutz (4-3): Bears 20, Seahawks 16
I was 50/50 on where to go with this one. But with the addition of Jeffery Simmons, I think the Bears defense will pressure Sam Darnold into making a few mistakes. In a game like this, the difference might be the Bears’ ability to take care of the ball with Caleb Williams under center.
David Dykstra (3-4): Bears 24, Seahawks 13
The Bears will have first-half struggles before coming back in the second half as they wear down the Seahawks defense.
