(670 The Score) Bears center Lucas Patrick is expected to be placed on injured reserve after suffering a toe injury in Chicago's 33-14 win at New England on Monday night.

Patrick suffered the injury during the second quarter of the game, and he's likely headed for injured reserve, coach Matt Eberflus told reporters Wednesday afternoon. Patrick would be required to miss a minimum of four games on injured reserve.

With Patrick out, the Bears will turn back to Sam Mustipher as their starting center. Patrick had replaced Mustipher at center in the starting lineup Monday. Mustipher had been the Bears' starter at center since 2020 and has made 30 career starts for Chicago.

The Bears will elevate center Dieter Eiselen from the practice squad to replace Patrick's spot on the active roster, Eberflus said. Beginning Wednesday, Chicago has also also designated receiver Byron Pringle (calf) for a return from injured reserve, opening a 21-day window for his activation.

The Bears (3-4) take on the Cowboys (5-2) on Sunday at AT&T Stadium.
