Montgomery suffered the injury during the fourth quarter of the Bears' 24-14 win against the Lions on Sunday at Soldier Field, immediately grabbing at his left knee after going down following a five-yard carry. He rushed 23 times for 106 yards and two touchdowns before suffering the injury.

Montgomery's injury isn't believed to be a torn ACL, ESPN reported Monday. But the extent of the injury wasn't known as of late Monday morning.

The Bears are also awaiting details on the status of backup running back Damien Williams, who left with a quad injury Sunday. Williams would be "the guy" if Montgomery is forced to miss time, coach Matt Nagy said.
