GREEN BAY, Wis. (104.3 The Score) — Bears quarterback Caleb Williams won't return Sunday, but he took a key step toward getting back in action.
Williams conducted a workout Sunday morning at Lambeau Field, testing his mobility as part of a rehabilitation from a hamstring injury. He was officially designated as inactive for the Bears' game against the Packers and wasn't included as the emergency third quarterback.
Williams could potentially return next Sunday, when the Bears visit the Falcons. Sunday will mark his third straight missed game.
Williams returned to practice in a limited capacity Friday, the first time he practiced since suffering the hamstring injury in a game on Sept. 20.
The Bears' inactives in Green Bay are Williams, running back Kyle Monangai (toe), offensive tackle Ozzy Trapilo, linebacker Keyshaun Elliott, defensive lineman Jamree Kromah and defensive lineman Jayden Loving.
The Bears (3-1) and Packers (2-2) will kick off at noon CT on Sunday from Lambeau Field.
