Crane Kenney: Cubs' finances won't be an issue at trade deadline

(670 The Score) As the Cubs continue to play terrific baseball, president of business operations Crane Kenney on Monday reiterated that the team's financial situation won't impact potential moves at the trade deadline.

Kenney joined the Bernstein & Rahimi Show on Monday morning after the Cubs opened Wrigley Field back up to a full capacity this past weekend, explaining that president of baseball operations Jed Hoyer will


"Finances won't be the issue at the deadline," Kenney said.

Riding a five-game winning streak, the Cubs entered Monday tied with the Brewers for first place in the NL Central at 38-27. The Cubs' recent success has flipped the dynamic from them potentially being sellers after a poor start to the season to almost certainly being buyers as the trade deadline looms July 30.
