Police arrested a woman ordering McDonald’s in a stolen truck after a two-hour chase for the vehicle.
In the middle of the bizarre police chase, the suspect got hungry and stopped at the famous fast food location for chicken nuggets, according to Boston.com.
The Worchester Police Department confirmed that Johanna Gardel, a 38-year-old from Massachusetts, was the suspect. When officers chased Gardell, it took around two hours since she refused to pull over.
During the incident, Gardel drove in the wrong direction while running red lights and even crashing into several other vehicles. Reports say a police officer was hospitalized and is expected to recover after she hit and dragged them.
With a GPS tracking device, the suspect was finally found at the McDonald’s drive-thru.
”She was ordering chicken nuggets and they actually held her up,” Raymond James Simoncini, the owner of the stolen truck, said.
The Worcester District Attorney’s Office said Gardell faces 15 charges, including assault and battery, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage, and resisting arrest.
As of now, Gardel is being held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing.
A press release by the Worcester Police Department confirms that the suspect was previously arrested for dealing MDMA, crack cocaine, heroin, and fentanyl.
