CLARKSVILLE, N.Y. (WBEN) - New York State Police say they have arrested and charged a teenager with murder after finding bodies inside a Thursday morning house fire in Allegany County.
William J. Larson Jr., 17, of Clarksville, NY, was charged with two counts of Murder in the 2nd degree, and two counts of Manslaughter in the 1st degree, following the fire at his home. Police say Larson was on scene at the time of the fire, but left by the time investigators arrived.
The victims were identified as 50-year-old Lisa Larson and 67-year-old William Larson Sr. - Larson's parents. State police say that their deaths may not have been a result of the fire and appeared suspicious.
Troopers responded to the fire at 12:45 a.m. on Thursday at 8472 Courtney Hallow Road.
State Police Public Information Officer James O'Callaghan told WBEN that it's believed the victims in the building where the fire was did not die in the fire. However, they have not determined the cause of death.
