BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - An airplane leaving the Buffalo Niagara International Airport on Wednesday morning hit a jet bridge.
NFTA told WBEN that the accident happened at 7 a.m. when United Flight 1442 was leaving from Buffalo to Newark, New Jersey. The plane's nose connected with the jet bridge, which is the walkway that connects the terminal to the plane. Airport officials said that the strong winds were a factor in the accident.
Chief Bill Major of Airport Fire told WBEN that incidents like this are rare.
There were 158 people on board the plane. No one was injured.
