North Tonawanda, NY (WBEN) Authorities in North Tonawanda responded to an anonymous tip Saturday and rescued a dog that was severely malnourished and kept locked in a cage. According to the North Tonawanda Dog Control Officer's Facebook page, the female dog, "…is in real bad shape…and will need long term hospitalization and physical therapy." The owners of the dog are being charged with animal cruelty. Donations to help with medical care costs for the dog are being sought via a GoFundMe page set up by the officer.
