Buchheit Seeks Queen City Landing Expansion

Queen City Landing

Buffalo, NY (WBEN) Developer Gerry Buchheit is reportedly making plans to update his Queen City Landing project.

Buchheit wants to phase in more residential units and additional public access space. The price tag would go up to $180 million.

The plan already has  a 20-story, 477,000-square-foot apartment building with 206 units. It would also have at least two restaurants and retail outlets facing Lake Erie.

The new application includes reserving 2.5 acres along the northern border as a green space to include elevated viewing platforms, fishing areas and canoe and kayak launches. Buchheit says he'd like that finished by 2023.

His next phaese would include a pair of six-story, loft-style apartment buildings that will have 170,000-square-feet and 146 apartments. That would be finished by 2027.

City officials must approve any modifications.
