Orchard Park, N.Y. (WBEN) - Orchard Park Police arrested two men early Sunday morning in connection to a series of car break-ins.
Police received a call from a resident on Lakeview Avenue shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday about two people checking the door handles of parked cars.
Police found the men in the parking lot of a business. One fled on a bicycle before being detained. In addition to evidence from this incident, police say they also recovered property that appears to be connected to other thefts in a neighboring town.
Wayne Hallman, 41, and Carl Toporek, 42, have both been charged.
Toporek faces fifth degree conspiracy, possession of burglar's tools and four vehicle and traffic violations. He was released to the Erie County Sheriff's Office because of an outstanding probation warrant.
Hallman is charged with third degree criminal possession of a weapon, fourth degree criminal possession of stolen property, fourth degree grand larceny and other crimes.
Both suspects may be linked to theft in neighboring town, police say.
