
Buffalo, NY (WBEN) A Buffalo man has been arraigned on assault charges in connection with a 2017 hit and run.
41-year-old Larry Jones is accused of driving a vehicle at a high-rate of speed on Masten Avenue near East Utica Street in the City of Buffalo when he caused a crash at the intersection with another vehicle in the early morning hours of June 26th. Prosecutors say the collision caused the victim’s vehicle to crash into a tree and Jones’s vehicle hit a garage and parked car. Prosecutors add Jones abandoned his vehicle and fled from the scene.
The victim spent several months at Buffalo General Medical Center where he underwent surgeries and physical therapy for his injuries.
Jones remains held without bail. A return court date has not been scheduled at this time. He's also charged with leaving the scene of an incident resulting in serious injury, reckless driving, and speeding
If convicted on the charges, Jones faces a maximum of 7 years in prison.
