ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WBEN) – At the top of Chestnut Ridge Park sits a unique café that just recently opened its doors after a bold decision made by its owners to leave the City of Buffalo to operate at a much quieter destination.
The café, Grateful Grind, recently moved from its former location at Main and Winspear to the casino at the park.
Grateful Grind first began with Tom’s passion for coffee and Angela’s desire to start a business after working at People, Inc. for 23 years. He would give his coffee to friends and family and it was only in the last four years that they began business, first by selling coffee beans online, then the formation of the actual café, and now the move to Chestnut Ridge Park. Tom, who often goes to major music festivals, also sells his coffee at those festivals, which proves to be a huge hit.
“We’ve had a number of repeat customers,” she said. “People are really intrigued and curious but they also come back, which is huge.”
