Buffalo, NY (WBEN) A Buffalo Common Councilmember has been barred from school property after the district says he brought a gun and ammunition into a Buffalo high school.
A statement from Buffalo Public Schools says Ulysses Wingo had entered Riverside High School on Tuesday with the gun. The district says protocol was immediately followed and police were notified. The district adds the administrator in charge has been placed on administrative leave.
The district says Wingo has been notified that he is not permitted to be on, in, or around any Buffalo City School District property or attend any events sponsored by the Buffalo Public Schools without the express written permission of the Superintendent.
Wingo responded on Facebook Friday.
A spokesperson for the district attorney's office says the office is aware of the matter and looking into it.
