Earlier Start for the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge

The start time of the race was moved up to 6:25pm. It was changed to accomodate the growing number of participants in the race.

The companies with the largest number of entrants are: Wegmans (501 entrants), Ingram Micro (482), Kaleida Health (413), Buffalo Public Schools (366), M&T Bank (278), Moog (253), HSBC (245), Elderwood (239), Erie County Medical Center (218), Erie County (213).

The race starts on Amherst Street between Colvin and Nottingham.  It goes down Delaware Avenue to Gates Circle, then back up Delaware and finishing in Delaware Park on Ring Road.

If you are participating in the race, organizers urge you to use free shuttle transportation from Buffalo State College. Lots G20 - G22 at Buffalo State open at 4pm.  Shuttle service runs from 4:15pm - 6pm and after the race from 8pm-10pm.  

Buffalo Police ask drivers to avoid Parkside and use alternate routes, as heavy traffic is expected around the park.

Road Closures

Roads in the area will start closing around 5:00pm.

These roads will be closed until 8:15pm: 

Amherst Street between Parkside Avenue & Edge Park.

Colvin Avenue between Amherst & Linden Streets.

Nottingham Terrace between Delaware Avenue & Amherst.

Buffalo Police say there will be rolling street closures along the race route as the race starts & proceeds.

They also remind drivers not block driveways, crosswalks or fire hydrants. Those that do, will be either ticketed or towed. You are also asked to avoid parking on the grassy areas around Delaware Park.
