Additional testing was conducted at the Erie County Public Health lab Monday, but the Department of health reports technical problems have led to delays in those results.  "Due to a technical issue, laboratory results for today's sample runs will be delayed", a statement says. "The specimens collected are still able to be tested, and testing will be performed overnight. Results for tests of Erie County residents will be available tomorrow after patients and their health care providers are informed."

"Remember, stay at home, hunker down," Erie County Health Commissioner Dr. Gale Burstein said. "No matter where you are, if you are at home in or the community, remember we still have to continue with these non-pharmaceutical interventions."

Burstein said that the county is still trying to get a better clarification of time at the Walden Galleria based on the information they have. Anyone under a self-quarantine should call their individual primary care physician to report any symtoms. Those doctors will then contact the Erie County Department of Health.

Fifty-two samples were taken on Sunday, including 43 from counties outside of Erie County. Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz said that many of those cases came from Monroe County.

Approximately 30 to 40 people are under a mandatory quarantine in Erie County.

Officials said they are prioritizing essential employees in government and in the health care field out of concerns that if they are unable to work it could goes a ripple effect in the community. Poloncarz said the county is in the process of finding and even creating day care centers to assist those essential people.

"We are in a very serious situation," Poloncarz said. "The acts an individual can take on one situation can affect someone else they hadn't even thought of just because they happened to be next to them in another location."

Poloncarz urged people to continue to patron local restaurants using their take-out or delivery options, noting that larger chains will fare well in comparison to the mom-and-pop shops.
