MAYVILLE, N.Y. (WBEN) – A boat explosion in Chautauqua Lake on Wednesday evening resulted in injuries to a man and three girls.
The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office said they responded to Chautauqua Marina after a boat exploded about 100 feet from the shore. Once they arrived, good Samaritans from the marina were helping the four people to the shore.
The man and three girls all suffered burns from the explosion. They were air lifted to trauma centers in the region for further treatment.
The cause of the explosion is currently under investigation.
