High winds as wild winter ride continues in WNY

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Stiff winds buffeted the Western New York region Friday leaving thousands without power at times.  Sporadic outages were reported throughout the day from both National Grid and NYSEG.

The High Wind Warning has expired and noa a Winter Weather Advisory remains posted for southern Erie County and the southern tier.

Flooding is still a concern along Tonawanda Creek at Rapids Road through early Saturday.
