Dispute over tip leads to gun charges against Bar-Bill customer

East Aurora, N.Y. (WBEN) East Aurora police arrested a Bar-Bill Tavern customer after authorities said he brought a gun inside the restaurant.

Witnesses told police the man was upset over the amount of gratuity left by another customer. They said he went to his car, returned with the gun and pointed it at several patrons.


The incident happened at about 11:15 p.m. Wednesday. The man had left by the time police arrived.

Erie County sheriff’s deputies said they found the man in Springville on Thursday morning and arrested him.

Scott Rutkowski, 40, of West Seneca, was charged with menacing, prohibited use of a weapon, criminal possession of a weapon, felony criminal possession of a firearm and reckless endangerment.

He was arraigned in Aurora Town Court and remanded to the Erie County Holding Center.
