TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WBEN) - Innosek, a 3D manufacturing company, is developing face shields for response for the pandemic.
Because of state grants, the Tonawanda company was able to create hundreds of masks for the nation. Many masks were also donated to local first responders.
University at Buffalo graduate and Innosek COO Brian Bischoff said he has been in the 3D printing business since 2017. Initially, they were focused on business and consumer printing but have since transitioned to assist government agencies.
"We actually had some trouble reaching out to the state because there was a lot of people who stood up and said they could do this," Bischoff said. "I bet (the state) was very overwhelmed."
Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul praised the company for their work at the start of the pandemic.
