ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WBEN) - Buffalo Bills Hall of Fame Quarterback Jim Kelly said he prefers keeping the Bills stadium exactly where it is in Orchard Park.

"If they decide to build a new stadium...why not move it across the street to where ECC is?" Kelly told reporters. "Make the stadium over there and when you're tearing down the building and that's done, there's a parking lot."

Kelly said he can't see the team moving downtown or getting a new stadium right away.

Talks about the Bills stadium were revived on Monday when NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell commended Pegula Sports and Entertainment for undertaking a study on the Bills stadium, which is expected to be complete by the end of August.

"I want the Bills to be successful and I want them to continue to be competitive here in Buffalo," Goodell said.

Goodell said the demand for a better quality stadium is higher now than it was 20 years ago.

But quality stadiums aren't cheap. Goodell said that league has spent $13 billion on stadiums over the last eight years, with $11 billion coming from the private sector.
