Niagara Falls, ON (WBEN) A man has survived a plunge over Niagara Falls in Canada.
Niagara Parks Police Service say a person considered in crisis was spotted at the brink of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls. Officers arrived on-scene and located the man climbing the retaining wall, jumped into the river, and was observed being swept over the Horseshoe Falls.
During a subsequent search of the lower Niagara River basin the same man was spotted sitting on the rocks at the water's edge below the Journey Behind the Falls observation platform. The male was rescued from the lower Niagara River basin and transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and for further assessment.
Privacy laws prohibit the release of the male's identity.
Police say no further details concerning this incident will be released.
