Buffalo NY (WBEN) The FDA is recommending approval of the sale of flavored vapes. One vape shop owner says this could be big for New York's vape shops.

"It would definitely make things a lot easier," says George Greene of Cloud Head in Cheektowaga. "I personally think it's just ridiculous, the meaning, the whole idea behind (the state's ban). it's like alcohol has all these different flavors and stuff like that. That doesn't get banned or whatever. Kids are doing the same sort of stuff, and I don't think that makes any difference."

Greene says flavored vape sales were the primary source for stores before the ban. "Most people don't want to smoke tobacco, and it's forcing people to start smoking cigarettes again, and there were so many reasons not to ban them," says Greene.

Greene says New York doesn't make it easy for small business owners. "It just makes it realistically they're going for double taxation, in a sense, you know, because they'll come in and find flavored vapes, and then, you know, then they get a fine, you know, and then they're already charging an extra tax on the vapes in the first place," says Greene.
