"I issued a travel ban overnight for public safety purposes," said Mayor Byron Brown on WBEN late Wednesday evening. "The travel ban is anticipated...to go until 7 a.m."
Brown discussed some of the conditions in Buffalo that led him to make the decision.
"High winds creating a lot of blowing and drifting snow, whiteout conditions," he began. "In downtown, we are seeing whiteout conditions, a storm system that has shifted to the south, so in the South Buffalo, First Ward, Lackawanna area, we're seeing the weather system shift in that direction."
