BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - An employee at the M&T Bank corporate office in Downtown Buffalo has contracted coronavirus.
The company said the employee traveled out-of-state. The employee did not face customers.
"Upon returning to the area but before returning to the office, our colleague began to experience flu-like symptoms and elected to self-quarantine at home," M&T Bank said in a statement. "We commend our colleague for exercising good judgement, and our thoughts are with them as they recover. The health and safety of our colleagues is our number one concern, so even though our colleague did not return to work after traveling, we implemented a Clorox 360 electrostatic disinfectant spray treatment of potentially impacted areas out of an abundance of caution."
The corporate office remains open.
