Amherst, N.Y. (WBEN) - A year from now, Sheridan Drive near Niagara Falls Boulevard in Amherst will have a completely different look.
The property that has been vacant and fenced-off, except for anchor tenant Whole Foods, will soon be home to L.L. Bean, William Sonoma,, West Elm and Athleta.
"The whole plaza project got slowed down by sewer problems in the area," said Kulpa. "It took up to 8 months to meet the Department of Environment Conservation's requirements, but now they have the site plan approval and they're ready to go."
Some of the shops are expected to be open by June, 2020.
The name Station Twelve comes from the property's earliest identifier, "Township 12".
"Seeing the renderings, knowing it's going to be a destination for people and add to the quality of life, is reason for optimism," said Kulpa. He says the project is going to kickoff the redevelopment of the West side of Amherst.
Whole Foods opened in the plaza in 2017.
