(WBEN)  The Flash Flood Warnings in Chautauqua County have been ended but still watch for some roadside and underpass flooding. Now your attention should turn to the shores of Lake Ontario.

LAKESHORE FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 PM EDT THIS AFTERNOON... * LOCATIONS...Lake Ontario shore of Niagara, Orleans, Monroe, and Wayne counties. * LAKE SHORE FLOODING...The combination of record high lake levels and a brief period of moderate northeast winds will result in greater wave action and an increase in lakeshore flooding and shoreline erosion along the south shore of Lake Ontario. * TIMING...Until 2 PM EDT this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Lakeshore flooding impacts will increase along the south shore of Lake Ontario with onshore winds creating greater wave action and shoreline erosion.


Instructions:A Lakeshore Flood Warning means lakeshore flooding is occurring, is imminent, or is expected to occur. People in the warning area should take immediate action to protect life and property. For your safety, stay off breakwaters, piers, rock outcroppings and beaches! Waves are often larger than they appear and can easily wash you away. Listen to local radio...television...or NOAA Weather Radio for further information.
