Buffalo, NY (WBEN) - Just how involved were "outside agitators" in turning Saturday's protest in Buffalo from peaceful to chaotic?
Before the protest began on Saturday, Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown warned that people from outside the Buffalo area were planning to incite violence. Whether or not that was the case, it did not show up in records of those who were arrested on Saturday night.
"All of them were from the Western New York area," said Erie County District Attorney John Flynn about the 10 people who were arrested for various crimes during Saturday's unrest.
"I think that what the mayor and the County Executive were alluding to when they said outside agitators were some of the individuals who may have been organizing or stirring up the pot," Flynn said. "There were a lot of social media posts… that indicated that there were a lot of outside groups from large national organizations… that were attaching themselves to the peaceful protest."
