BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - The Buffalo Sabres announced Saturday they signed forward Marcus Johansson to a two-year, $9 million contract.
Johansson began last season with the New Jersey Devils and was traded to the Boston Bruins at the NHL Trade Deadline. He scored 30 points in 58 combined regular season games between the two clubs. During the Stanley Cup Playoffs, he scored 11 points in 22 games.
The 28-year-old from Sweden has played nine years in the NHL with 334 points in 588 career games. He was originally drafted 24th overall by the Washington Capitals in the 2009 NHL Draft.
