BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) - A shocking video of a suspect being beaten by a cell block attendant nearly three years ago was released by the City of Buffalo after a joint lawsuit from Channel 7 and The Buffalo News.
The city released the video following a $300,000 settlement to Shaun Porter, the man who was attacked. Matthew Jaskula was seen on video shoving Porter face first into a door and onto the ground while two officers looked on. Porter was then dragged through the building and put in a restraint chair. He was left for more than an hour before he received medical attention.
Lockwood says there's a zero tolerance policy toward such conduct. "If these incidents happen, I will take this seriously and issue the proper discipline they deserve," says Lockwood. "I think the majority of Buffalo Police Officers do their jobs professionally every day."
