(WBEN) - A 19 year old has drowned after cliff diving in the area at Ripley Beach on Lake Erie Thursday evening.
The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office responded to the call of a man in distress in Lake Erie at around 6:00pm last night. Authorities say four people were cliff diving. Two of the men, both 19-years-old, jumped off into the lake's rough waters.
One of the teens is said to have drowned before authorities arrived. The other was rescued from a rocky area below and was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Both of the teenagers were from Pennsylvania.
