"I love when God opens up a door for us to help to love and serve the broken hearted," Steve Tybor, CEO of Eight Days of Hope, said. "The zip code 14215 has been hit very hard by the COVID-19 virus. We were able to send thousands of masks to hospitals and nurses across the country. A couple of days ago, we came into some more masks. The idea was how do we take care of our own?"
Their satellite office on Kensington Avenue handed out 7,500 masks. Their operation involved cars driving up, where they placed four masks in a plastic bag in the trunk or back window of the car.
