White, 29, of North Tonawanda stands accused of the attempted murder of his ex-girlfriend, Jessica Cameron, after he set her on fire last December 17 outside of a Tim Horton’s on Niagara Street and Seymour Street in the City of Tonawanda.
Cameron, 25, suffered third degree burns on more than 30 percent of her body. Her face is scarred by the burns along with her neck and hands. Parts of her fingers were amputated as part of her more than three months at a hospital.
But the looming question in this trial is whether or not White intentionally tried to kill her. He said he went to the Tim Horton’s that day in an attempt to take his own life following a breakdown in their toxic relationship that lasted more than seven years and resulted in four children.
White never said that he tried to hurt her.
Cameron said the opposite when she took the stand on Thursday.
“How do you square that with the allegation that he attempted to murder her?” he asked. “That’s a question the jury is going to have to consider very carefully.”
Terranova said that if a jury finds White guilty, he will appeal the decision. White faces life in prison if convicted.
