BUFFALO, N.Y. (WBEN) – Monday’s poll released by Siena College did no favors for the state’s cash bail reform and the Green Light law, two of the most controversial issues that have dominated headlines in recent months.

Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul said the bail reform laws are currently undergoing “tweaks” by Albany lawmakers.

Recently, democrats unveiled proposals that could eliminate cash bail entirely but give judges more discretion as to who could be remanded to bail by expanding the crimes that would lead to jail time.

Hochul said the federal government is playing politics and that Western New Yorkers are being hurt by the measure.
