Winter Weather Advisories extended for southern tier

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - The Winter Weather Advisories have been dropped for the northern portions of Western New York and have been extended until 1am Tuesday for the southern half of the region.  A Wind Advisory remains in place for southern Erie and Chautauqua Counties until 4am.

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 AM ESTTUESDAY...* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total ice accumulationsof less than a tenth of an inch are expected.* WHERE...Southern Erie and Wyoming counties and the westernSouthern Tier.* WHEN...Until 1 AM EST Tuesday.* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Plan on slippery road conditions. Thehazardous conditions could impact the evening commute.PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...Periods of sleet or freezing rain will result in slippery roads.Slow down and use caution while driving.

Strongestwinds will be along the Lake Erie shore and northward facingslopes.* TIMING...Through late tonight.* WINDS...South 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph.* IMPACTS...Winds of this magnitude may bring down a few treelimbs and result in isolated power outages.
