Warsaw, NY (WBEN) A Rochester man has died in the custody of the Wyoming County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff Gregory Rudolph says a corrections officer found 47 year old Timothy Pabone unresponsive in his cell late Tuesday morning. Medical emergency procedures were initiated, which included CPR and an AED. At 12:03 p.m., paramedics from Monroe Ambulance arrived and at 12:05 p.m., emergency medical personnel from the Warsaw Ambulance arrived and further lifesaving efforts were performed. However, at 12:24 p.m. after nearly thirty minutes of continuous effort, Medical Control at the Wyoming County Community Health System advised Mr. Pabone was deceased. Wyoming County Coroner Neil Williams responded to the Jail and ordered an autopsy be conducted at the Monroe County Medical Examiner's Office.

Rudolph says Pabone was in a locked cell and the block is under video surveillance. There are no indications of any type of foul play, although he notes Coroner Williams and the Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause of death. Rudolph notes it is suspected Mr. Pabone had some sort of medical event.

Sheriff Rudolph said, "when the Officer observed Mr. Pabone to be unresponsive, he immediately took action and began CPR. Several other men and women of our Jail Division Staff assisted in life saving efforts. The Pabone family has our sympathies in this difficult time for their sudden and unexpected loss."

Pabone had contact with the Irondequoit Police Department in the early hours of July 22, 2019 when it was discovered he had a warrant out of the Town of Warsaw Court for failure to pay fine on aggravated unlicensed operation and interlock device charges. The New York State Police took custody of Pabone and he was arraigned by Justice Errington of the Town of Warsaw Court and ordered secured in the Jail Division on $1,000 bail pending a later court date. Pabone was booked into the Wyoming County Jail on July 22.
