Orchard Park, N.Y. (WBEN) - It came as no surprise New Year's Day when the Buffalo Bills tweeted out that tickets for their upcoming playoff game at Bills Stadium was officially a sellout.
Bills fans learned this week that New York State had cleared the way to allow nearly 6800 fans inside the stadium for the playoffs.
It will be a different experience for the Bills Mafia with only about 10% of the stadium capacity filled and only in the lower bowl section of the stadium. The 300 level will remain closed and season ticket holders will not have access to their usual seats.
Those who were able to obtain tickets were season ticket holders who indicated at the beginning of the season that they would opt-in to playoffs seating. The priority by which fans were determined eligible was based on the longevity of their season ticket account.
Fans with tickets will be contacted Monday as to the logistics surrounding required COVID testing that will take place in the stadium parking lots beginning this coming week. Fans must obtain a negative result in order to attend the playoff game.
