Sabres announce 2024 preseason schedule

Buffalo will open its preseason on Saturday, Sept. 21 against the Penguins at KeyBank Center

Buffalo, N.Y. (WGR Sports Radio 550) - The Buffalo Sabres announced on Monday their six-game preseason schedule ahead of the opening of the 2024-25 regular season.

Of the six games scheduled this preseason, the Sabres will have two games against Atlantic Division opponents and four games against opponents in the Metropolitan Division.

The Sabres will open the preseason with two home games, the first being against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday, Sept. 21 at KeyBank Center. The next game will take place on Monday, Sept. 23 against the Columbus Blue Jackets, which is the same night the Buffalo Bills will host the Jacksonville Jaguars at Highmark Stadium on "Monday Night Football".

Following that, they'll head on the road for three games against the Penguins and Blue Jackets, as well as a road matchup with the Ottawa Senators sandwiched in-between.

Buffalo will then close out the preseason schedule with a home macthup against the Detroit Red Wings on Monday, Sept. 30.

Along with their normal slate of preseason games, the Sabres are also set to take part in the NHL Global Series this year, which includes an exhibition match against EHC Red Bull München of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) on Friday, Sept. 27. The logistics of that game are unclear, in terms of which Sabres players will be taking part in the exhibition game in Germany.

Following the conclusion of the preseason, the final roster will all be present in Prague, Czechia for the season-opening two-game series against the New Jersey Devils at O2 Arena.
