Brian Daboll endeared himself to beleaguered Giants fans by seemingly yelling at Daniel Jones following an end zone interception in the fourth quarter Sunday, then perplexed them again by going for two with a minute left and the Giants down 20-19 to Tennessee – all but certainly ending the game, win or lose, depending on the result.

Well, the Giants got it, Daboll became the first Giants coach since 2016 years to open 1-0 – and that’s four coaches ago, as 2016 was year one of the Ben McAdoo era – and then endeared himself even more with these dance moves after the game:
Coach Daboll certainly can break it down, and had good reason to after the Giants came back from a 13-0 halftime deficit and a missed extra point on their first touchdown to take that 21-20 lead, and then hung on as Randy Bullock’s game-winning field goal attempt at the gun sailed wide to give Big Blue the win.
“I was hoping the son of a bitch would miss it,” Daboll smiled after the game when asked what he was thinking when the Titans lined up for that attempt.
Even better? Not only is Daboll the coach of the first Giants team since 2016 to start 1-0, that 1-0 record is the Giants’ first above-.500 mark since that 2016 season ended 11-5. Outside of being 0-0 entering Week 1, the Giants have only even been even once in the last five seasons: a 2-2 record after beating Washington in Week 4 of 2019.
Otherwise, one game under .500 on several occasions (including five straight 0-1 records) was the closest they came to being a winner.
