6-10 inches of snow expected to hit WNY Monday into Tuesday

Southtowns and Ski Country likely to be hit the hardest

Snow Storm

BUFFALO (WBEN) - Western New York is expected to get hit with 6-10 inches of snow starting Monday morning and lasting through Tuesday afternoon.

"The heavier totals near 10 inches will be south and east of Buffalo, so the Southtowns, Ski Country, down through the Southern Tier may see the heaviest accumulations," said Accuweather Meteorologist Bill Deger.

Deger noted that Buffalo and the Northtowns will likely receive the lower end of that 6-10 inch range.

Along with the snow, more cold temperatures, as this past week has been the coldest of the winter for the region.

"We've gone a whole week now with temperatures below freezing, 20's for daytime highs and nighttime lows in the single digits and teens," Deger continued. "Unfortunately, I don't see much of a reprieve here for the next week or so - I'm talking about temperatures staying in the 20's, nighttime lows staying in the single digits and teens - it may take until at least next weekend for that temperature to get close to the freezing mark."
