Chicago company to manage $50 million Amherst sports complex
716 Sports Complex LLC

Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - Chicago-based KemperSports Venues has been selected to manage the new $50 million 716 Sports Complex in Amherst that's set to start construction this spring. The building will feature an indoor track, fields and a family entertainment center, and host football, lacrosse, softball, baseball and basketball games. The complex is set to open next year.

An infusion of cash is coming to four local organizations through the New York Power Authority's ReCharge NY program and Western New York Hydropower. The funds total $6.9 million with Tonawanda's John W. Danforth Company getting $1 million, Kenmore Mercy Hospital $4 million, Buffalo's Wavepoint 3PL is getting $1.5 million, while Preservation Buffalo Niagara will receive just under $410,000.


Bank of America is closing its office at 611 Jamison Road in Elma in June. 252 people work there, but a WARN notice says only 170 workers will be affected. All workers will be able to transfer to other offices. According to Business First, Moog is considering expanding into the space. They've been renovating part of the building to make room for a new manufacturing facility.
