Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - D'Youville University has chosen a former M&T Bank facility at 285 Delaware in the city of Buffalo as the site of its new College of Medicine. The school is still waiting for pre-accreditation approvals. The school will be about a mile away from D'Youville's main campus. The university expects the program to bring hundreds of students to the city, with the first class hopefully beginning in the fall of 2026. D'Youville expects 720 students to be enrolled in the school within six years.
The city of Buffalo is still searching for a developer for a new Department of Public Works facility. The search had been announced in 2022 and an announcement had been expected last year, with Uniland being in the running. The DPW currently stages vehicles at the old Broadway Barns. Business First is reporting that this has thrown a wrench into redevelopment plans for the building that have been on the table since 2023. The plan is to turn the building into a sports complex with more than 100 apartments.
