Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) - In a deal several months in the making, Child & Family Services of Erie County has officially acquired the St. Andrews Church and School properties, paying $1.4 million dollars which includes five parcels along Sheridan Drive and Lowell Road in the Town of Tonawanda.

Included in the deal is the vacant St. Andrew's Church, St. Andrew's School and rectory, with the Child and Family Services planning to use the complex to run a series of programs.

A vacant parcel at 859 Broadway in Buffalo - where a three-story, late 1800s era building once stood - has been acquired by local investors 4 Link Inc with plans for the property still being determined.

New owners who bought the former Seneca Mall site back in late 2024 after being vacant for decades has recently began to make progress on the property.

Plans for the site include 500,000 square feet of commercial development including a discount club as West Seneca Town Board approved rezoning in May for redevelopment.
