Gas prices locally dropped eight cents from last week's cost according to the AAA. The current average for a gallon of unleaded in the Buffalo-Niagara Falls region is $3.54. Year to year the current price is eight cents higher than this time last year.
There is a new owner for the Buffalo Niagara Marriott. Business First reports Corning-based Visions Hotels LLC's bid of $14.5 million was the highest of more than a dozen received during online bidding that ended last week. The deal should officially close in the first quarter of 2023.
Also from Business First: two affiliates of DePaul Properties Inc. engaged in an "arms-length transaction" to pave the way for a $30 million North Buffalo apartment complex. By definition, an "arms length transaction" is where two or more unrelated and unaffiliated parties agree to do business, acting independently and in their self-interest. DePaul Acquisitions LLC sold 11 parcels at 2633 Delaware Avenue to DePaul Delaware Avenue Housing Development Fund Corp. for a reported $1.47 million. Construction could start later this month, with a mid-2024 completion date set.
